Maritime Grime Mix Series Volume 013 RETRO EDITION f/ Roo & Matt Anaka (MGMS013)
https://soundcloud.com/themaritimegrime/mgms013_feat_roo_and_matt_anaka Welcome to the 13th volume of the Mix Series. This is a special edition to get you ready for the Stanton Warriors tomorrow, Saturday October 13th at the Seahorse Tavern. The warriors are gunna kill it with the breaks, so we thought we'd get your ears ready for it because these two sets are filled with breaks. Matt Anaka's set Holding It Down (and Fucking It Up) is straight breaks bangers from 2005. While on the other hand, Roo blends house and breaks together going from the deep and dark to the funky and jazzy. It's a true journey of a DJ set. soundcloud.com/themaritimegrime/mgms012_feat_steven_p_and_gt_fckd Welcome to the 12th volume of the Mix Series. This edition is just filled with awesome tunes from both sets. MGMS Volume 007 f/ Jay Hamilton vs Danny Newton & Sean Keating (Live @ Evolve 7 in 2006 on the Sunflower stage; Antigonish, Nova Scotia)
soundcloud.com/themaritimegrime/mgms007_feat_jay_hamilton_vs_danny_newton_and_sean_keating For Volume 007 of the Maritime Grime Mix Series, we're showing part of what we are doing with the mix series. We want to show you part of the history of the Maritime music scene. So for every mix that ends with 7 (007, 017, 027 etc) we are featuring a mix from back in the day. For the first retro volume, we going back almost 12 years to midnight on August 8th of 2006 when Jay Hamilton & Danny Newton opened up the mainstage at Evolve for the DJ portion of the night with some breaks and then bangin' techno followed by Sean Keating blasting out electrogressive anthems at 1:30am. For a lot of people, this may be the first time these two sets were played in this order since that night. This was one of the best displays of local talent I have ever seen at any event anywhere. These two sets have never left my playlist. If you haven't heard these sets before, or it's been a while, put it on full blast. https://www.facebook.com/maritimegrime/ https://soundcloud.com/themaritimegrime www.instagram.com/themaritimegrime https://soundcloud.com/sean-keating https://www.facebook.com/Sean-Keating-102170909894356/ https://ww.mixcloud.com/sean-keating/ And as per usual, a big thanks to Ed Solo & Skool of Thought for letting us use their tune Music Is Music from their album Random Acts of Kindness.
